TurboCAD Certification Testing
CADCourse is very pleased to announce CADCourse TurboCAD Certification Testing. This type of certification testing is widely requested in the professional field as validation your personal CAD skills. We will test you in real time over the internet in our Online Training Center. Should you achieve a passing grade of 80% we will issue you with an official CADCourse Certification Certificate proving that you have the required TurboCAD skills in the specified area. If you do not pass the first time round you may repeat the test free of charge for a maximum of 3 times..

Our Online Training Center allows us to create test questions in multiple choice and text format so that immediate test results can be achieved. You will also have to present your completed exercise drawings to the instructor who will validate the correctness. You will know if you have achieved a passing grade immediately after the test is completed.

The following table illustrates the tests that are available and the prerequisite learning material:

Test: 2D Essentials
Cost: $100
Duration: 1.5 hours
Prerequisite Material: CADCourse Essentials or Mastering TurboCAD 2D

Test: Mechanical
Cost: $100
Duration: 1.5 hours
Prerequisite Material: CADCourse Space Station or Mastering TurboCAD 3D

Test: Architectural
Cost: $100
Duration: 1.5 hours
Prerequisite Material: CADCourse House Plan or Mastering TurboCAD Architectural

V9 Maintenance Release Available Soon

The first maintenance release of TurboCAD V9 is imminent. We are particularly pleased that this release has fixed some serious errors in the program including the inability to open a FloorPlan drawing from within TurboCAD.

Also included is a new release of the 1stPricing module which allows for real-time quotes on doors, windows and sky-lights. We love this functionality in TurboCAD and the 1stPricing people are adding more features such as automatic height above the floor and much more!

Undo/Redo - Subscriptions out/Courses In

Last month we announced the availability of a subscription service for unlimited online training. This month we are discontinuing this service. Customers that did make use of this affordable method of online training found it to be extremely valuable but unfortunately this proves not to be a viable business model for CADCourse with a limited subscriber base. Currently we are in the process of creating online training curriculums for formal online training classes as part of the certification program. We will continue to offer live online training and drawing support at a rate of $75 per hour as this has proven extremely usual for professionals who have particular training needs. Feel free to drop in for our TurboCAD Open House during normal business hours to test this technology for yourself, or call us at 707 658 2770 to schedule a demonstration.

Copy and Paste in Rendered Mode
New to Version 9 is the ability to select objects in rendered mode. This is handy for moving or changing the properties of the selected 3D object. However it is not possible to copy and paste the object into another drawing in this rendered mode. An error stating that it “Failed to create static OLE Object” appears. What this means to the layman is that a bitmap image has been copied to the clipboard and cannot be pasted into the drawing. (It can be pasted into other applications such as Word or even into TurboCAD itself as a bitmap image via the Edit | Paste Special Menu). In order to copy and paste the object from one drawing to the next it is required that you turn off the rendering mode and then copy and paste.
